Dr. David Brown, MD
Dr. David Brown is a native of Jasper, Alabama. He was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Birmingham-Southern College in 1986, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Medicine in 1990. Following that, he did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Alabama in Birmingham Hospital. He has since maintained certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Brown moved to Florence in 1993 joining the Florence Clinic, and following that, he has practiced general Internal Medicine at Florence Medical Associates. His interest has been maintaining relationships with patients and partnering with them in their health care.
He is married to Kim Brown, and they have been blessed with three sons: Wesley, Andrew and Grant.
Dr. Brown is actively involved in Highland Baptist Church and has been on multiple short-term medical mission trips to Honduras and also a short-term mission experience in Uganda.
In addition to spending time with family, he enjoys staying active outdoors. Golf remains a favorite pastime, as well as hiking, cycling and swimming. Over the past few years, he has enjoyed time in the nearby Sipsey Wilderness area and backpacking and section hiking on the Appalachian Trial.
