Dr. Eric Santiago, MD

Dr. Eric Santiago is a native of Russellville, Alabama. He graduated with honors in 2003 from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Medicine in 2007. Dr. Santiago did his internship at the University of Kentucky in Lexington in 2008.  He then completed Internal Medicine residency in 2011 at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio, a partner residency program to Wright Patterson Air Force Base, where his wife Inkyung completed her active duty residency training in Internal Medicine at the same time.

Following residency, Dr. Santiago and his wife served as physicians for the US military in Okinawa, Japan.  Dr. Eric Santiago worked as a physician at the US Naval Hospital on Camp Foster, and his wife served as an active duty physician at Kadena Air Force Base from 2011 to 2015.  They returned to north Alabama and joined Florence Medical Associates in 2015.

Dr. Santiago was board certified in Internal Medicine in 2011.  His professional interests include preventive medicine and management of chronic medical illness including diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and thyroid disease.

Dr. Eric Santiago and Dr. Inkyung Santiago are raising three wonderful children. Dr. Santiago enjoys playing all manner of sports, piano, and video games, and loves spending free time with his family.
